Mrs. Chedsey (formerly Grotrian) was born and raised in Nebraska, where she received her Associate’s Degree in Human Services. She then moved to Austin, Texas in 2002, and began her teaching career as a lead Pre-K teacher at a local private preschool. After teaching Pre-K for five years, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Learning and Development from the University of Texas at Austin; ESL/EC-6th certified. In 2017, she received the honor of representing Oak Hill as "Teacher of the Year". Mrs. Chedsey has provided leadership on her campus through her involvement with the University of Texas internship program, AISD mentor program, PTA faculty representative, and a former AISD Gifted & Talented campus advocate.
She is excited to begin her 12th year of teaching at Oak Hill Elementary. Mrs. Chedsey enjoys hiking and running with her dog Racer, playing volleyball, spending time outdoors with her daughter and husband, attending live music shows, Husker football, reading, and making fun new memories with her family and friends in Austin and back home in Nebraska. |
